I don’t drink any kind of soda – diet or otherwise. Water is my drink of choice.
Diet sodas are sweetened with things like aspartame, sucralose, acesulfame-potassium, just to name a few. I don’t know about you, but those just sound bad to me. Chemicals. Watch when you pour a diet soda. It takes forever for the foam to settle due to those chemicals.
I encourage people daily to read the labels of anything you consume. Labels don’t lie. And you’ll be amazed at what’s in a product.
Artificial sweeteners have potential side effects, especially when used regularly in large quantities. These include headaches, dizziness, heart palpitations, stomach problems, insomnia, fatigue and forgetfulness. The list goes on.
While diet sodas don’t cause weight gain per se, they certainly have been known to hinder weight loss, particularly around the mid section.
You do the math, as they say. If you could sleep better, be more clear-minded, have a healthier heart, not be anxious, lose that stubborn belly fat, and just feel better overall would you like that? Back away from the diet sodas. Choose water with lemon or unsweetened iced tea instead. Caffeine an issue? Choose decaffeinated unsweetened iced tea. Diluted fruit juices are also good alternatives.
Bottom line – drink more water and less chemicals!
